The field is set.

All 48 teams for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been confirmed after the final six playoff spots were decided in a dramatic round of fixtures featuring stunning upsets and historic moments. The countdown to June 11 is now underway, when the opening match of the world’s most prestigious soccer tournament kicks off in Mexico City.

Bosnia & Herzegovina were among the most dramatic qualifiers, denying Italy a World Cup berth for the third consecutive time. Turkey ended a 24-year absence from the tournament by defeating Kosovo and will face the United States, Paraguay and Australia in Group D. Sweden edged past Poland on a late goal from Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres and will join the Netherlands, Japan and Tunisia in Group F.

Czechia secured their spot in a tense penalty shootout against Denmark following a draw in extra time, and will join co-host Mexico, South Africa and South Korea in Group A. Congo DR punched its ticket to its first-ever World Cup with an extra-time goal to edge past Jamaica. Iraq claimed the final berth in the 48-team field with a 2-1 victory over Bolivia, returning to the tournament for the first time since 1986.

Here is how the full field of 48 teams and their groups shape up.
