Afrika Bambaataa, the pioneering DJ and producer, has died.
The musician died from complications from cancer in Pennsylvania at age 67, TMZ reported.

Born Lance Taylor in the Bronx in 1957, Bambaataa was best known for his early hip-hop work, most notably his 1986 album *Planet Rock*.
