Wait until Ryan Reynolds hears about this!
Hugh Jackman recounted an experience that he'd rather forget during his Wednesday appearance on SiriusXM’s *The Howard Stern Show.* It was the time that, while playing Gaston in the 1995 Australian stage show of *Beauty and the Beast*, he'd relieved himself before an audience of 1,500 people.
"Good morning, everybody," Jackman joked, after Stern straight-up asked about the incident. "So I was getting a lot of headaches. and I went to a naturopath. And the guy said, 'You're dehydrated. You've gotta drink a lot of water. Drink it before 5 o'clock.'"**
The specialist wanted Jackman to eventually drink something like two liters of water per day.
"So that first day," Jackman said, "I drank two gallons. And the first song I sing, it was so hard to get through. I had to pick her up. I had to drag her around. I had to sing. And, as I picked Belle up, a little bit of piss came out. And I'm wearing red tights."
Unfortunately for Jackman, the darker shade did not hide what had happened.

"Then I thought, 'Uh-oh,'" the *X-Men* star recalled. "And I remember, Belle's over my shoulder, and she's like, 'What's going on?' Cause I had stopped singing. I was just marching around. and then, at the end of the song, I had a choice: I either sing it and piss my pants, or I don't sing it and humiliate myself. So, I sang it, and it was just going,"
And while it would have been wonderful if his accident had been overlooked, that's not what happened. He thought it had at first, but it was not be.
"As I walk offstage, my dresser is in the wings," Jackman said. "And all she is doing is looking at my crotch. I look down as I walk off, and it is completely wet. So in that three minutes after the song, it had seeped through."
After that, he knew better than to drink so much before a show.
"There's nothing that can embarrass you after that," said Jackman, who's gone on to appear in musical movies such as *The Greatest Showman*, *Les Misérables*, and the upcoming *Song Sung Blue*.
In the latter, Jackman and Kate Hudson play the real-life couple of Mike Sardina and Claire Stengl, who formed a Neil Diamond tribute act.
*Song Sung Blue *arrives in movie theaters Dec. 25.
