One of the most talented goal creators in the world, Mohamed Salah hasn’t played for English Premier League side Liverpool since Dec. 13.
That hasn’t been due to an injury, but instead a lengthy stint with his national team — Egypt — at the Africa Cup of Nations. Salah scored four goals in six starts for the Pharaohs, who lost to Nigeria in the third-place game of the tournament on penalty kicks.
But now Salah is back with Liverpool as play in Champions League ramps up. On Wednesday, Liverpool plays at Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Salah is part of Arne Slot's traveling squad and will be available for selection for Liverpool.
Still, it’s unclear if the 33-year-old forward will play.

Before departing for international duty, Salah publicly questioned his future with Liverpool and indicated he was having a dispute with Slot. In late November and early December, Salah was an unused sub in Premier League games against Leeds and West Ham.
After the draw with Leeds, Salah accused the club of throwing him “under the bus" and said he had no relationship with Slot.
As a result, the club legend was suspended for one match before he returned off the bench against Brighton — his last game before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ahead of his return to Liverpool, Slot spoke of Salah last week.
“Mo has been so important for this club and me, so I am happy he is back. Even if I had 15 attackers, I would be happy to see Mo back,” Slot said. “We are in talks with him and what is expected of him over there and over here.”
Salah has five goals and four assists in 19 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season. With or without him, the Reds have played well, as they’re unbeaten in their last 11 games.
