Love Island UK has returned to screens, and as a new group of singles enters the villa seeking romance, we're taking a look back at former contestants who've had surprising connections to royalty.

Whether linked to the British Royal Family or international monarchies, several past islanders have fascinating stories to tell. From dating Prince Harry to socializing with Prince William, these former contestants have quite the royal pedigree.

Sometimes these connections only surface during villa conversations, but one contestant whose royal ties were known before entering was fan-favorite Camilla Thurlow, who had previously dated Harry. However, she remained discreet about the details of the relationship.

While it was public knowledge before her villa entrance that Harry's former girlfriend was joining the show, she refused to share intimate details. When pressed during a game, she told her fellow contestants: "A lady never tells."

Aaron Francis from the 2021 season also had royal connections through his work with a luxury events and party host company, where he staffed major royal occasions.

He revealed to his villa companions that he'd worked at the weddings of both Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. He shared with his co-stars, "I hosted and chatted. It was nice and intimate. Everyone's chill."

Teddy Soares boasted an impressive royal connection - he was once a Nigerian prince. The reality star revealed to fellow islanders that he held the title of prince of Nigeria's Delta State until his grandfather's passing ended that lineage. While no longer part of the royal family, his previous ties were certainly notable.

Casa Amor contestant Abi Moores also had a brush with British royalty, casually mentioning to her partner that she used to spend time with Prince Harry and Prince William.

She revealed on the show, "I had horses. I used to live in Sandhurst, where the Royal Military Academy is. I used to keep my horse there when I was younger. I didn't know this was weird, but Prince Harry and Prince William would be there.

"I literally had no clue that people didn't know them, too." She also told everyone that she "knew" the late Queen Elizabeth.

Most recently, All Stars participant Helena Ford shared her encounter with William and Kate from her time working as an air hostess. She described the couple as "really nice" but noted they had to follow strict protocols.

She explained, "They can't fly in the highest cabin, so if there's a First, they have to sit in Business, if there's no First, they have to sit in Traveler Plus. But there was a First, so they sat in Business.

"But the whole of Business Class was their security. There was no one else in there; they had fake names and stuff," the air hostess concluded.

Only time will reveal if this group of hopeful singletons has any intriguing royal connections, but such details inevitably emerge!
