- Michael Kors is recalling a strange fan encounter while at a fashion event at a Macy's in the New York City borough of Queens.

- "A woman came up to the desk where I was sitting, and she turned around and put her butt in my face and said, 'Please sign my ass,'" he recalled.

- Wintour asked Kors if it was "the oddest thing that you have ever done," and Kors replied, "'Kind of, yeah.'"

One lucky Michael Kors fan got an original design that isn't likely to be replicated anytime soon.

The noted fashion designer and former *Project Runway *judge recently strolled down memory lane past some of his stranger press engagements and fan requests. He told *Modern Family *star Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Tuesday's episode of his *Dinner's on Me *podcast about singing "Defying Gravity" with Idina Menzel; the infamous, annual shopping event Fashion's Night Out; and one peculiar encounter he had with a fan in New York City.

"We had one where I went to Macy's, but not Macy's here in Manhattan. I went to Macy's in Queens, and we were supposed to meet people and sign, I think, perfume bottles or something," he recalled. "And a woman came up to the desk where I was sitting, and she turned around and put her butt in my face and said, 'Please sign my ass.'"

Kors did offer a scrap of context, but it didn't lessen his shock at the request. "I was like, 'What?' And she said, 'I'm wearing Michael Kors jeans.'"

The reality star and fashion guru thankfully wasn't alone at the event. "Anna Wintour was sitting next to me, and Anna looked at me and said, 'What are you gonna do?' I said, 'I'm gonna sign her ass.' I got a Sharpie, and I signed her ass, and off she went."

The infamously steely former *Vogue *big wig asked Kors if that was "'the oddest thing that you have ever done,' and I said, 'Kind of, yeah.' But you know what? She's got a one-of-a-kind piece now."

Kors launched his eponymous label in 1981, after graduating from New York City's prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in 1977. Over the following four, nearly five decades, the small, boutique label has grown into a major fashion house, turning out ready-to-wear apparel, runway-ready high fashion, accessories, jewelry, footwear, and fragrances.

The designer became a household name when he joined the inaugural judging panel on the reality series *Project Runway*, alongside editor Nina Garcia and host Heidi Klum. He stayed with the show for 10 seasons before departing, but has returned for four seasons in a guest judging capacity.
