Actor Russell Crowe was captured on camera telling fans not to "f---ing push in on me" while signing autographs in Paris.
On Tuesday, the actor posted a response on X to a TMZ story about the moment.
"What's your problem?" the Oscar-winning star wrote.
Gladiator's Maximus actor Russell Crowe is maxed out on reactions to a recent incident involving the actor.
TMZ captured on camera (and shared to X on Monday) the Academy Award-winning star telling fans not to "f---ing push in on me" as he signed autographs outside a hotel in Paris. In its original post on X, TMZ wrote that "the guy was absolutely not having it" and that "fans are not always priority No. 1" for some stars.
On Tuesday, the 62-year-old pushed back against the outlet's coverage of the moment.
"Clickbait. Everybody got their autograph and selfie, the passage to the hotel was kept free for guests, and I still got to the airport on time," Crowe wrote on X.
"One man, no security. Handled. What’s your problem?" Crowe wrote, finishing his post.
A community note was also eventually added to the outlet's initial X post, with context added about Crowe's response to the clip. (Entertainment Weekly has reached out to TMZ for comment on Crowe's response.)
In the footage, Crowe can be seen exiting the hotel and pausing before addressing a crowd. The actor puts his fingers up and asks, "Are you listening?" before providing instructions to those gathered to see him.
"Stay where you are. Don’t f---ing push in on me. I’ll come to you," Crowe advised. "Give everybody space. As soon as somebody’s a dick, I’m going. Copy? Clear?”

The actor then made his way around the group, signing autographs for those huddled around him.
When one attendee asked, "If you can add 'Maximus?'" with regard to Crowe's character in Ridley Scott's Best Picture-winning epic film, Crowe replied with a curt, "No," before moving on.
Crowe's blunt demeanor has led to headlines in the past, including in December 2025, when the actor spoke out against Gladiator II'sscreenplay, which revealed that Paul Mescal's character, Lucius, was actually Maximus' out-of-wedlock son.

"I think the recent sequel that we don't have to name out loud is a really unfortunate example of even the people in that engine room not actually understanding what made the first one special," Crowe told Triple J. Crowe did not return in an official capacity for the sequel (Maximus died at the end of Scott's 2000 original).
"It wasn't the pomp, it wasn't the circumstance, it wasn't the action — it was the moral core," he said.
