After guest chef Christian Petroni, who cooked and served the two shrimp parm alongside Sunni Anderson, commented that he's "dying to hear this," Maniscalco dropped his tip without hesitation.
"When you get invited over to someone's house for a meal, bring something," he stated. "Bring some wine, bring something." He went on to say that when people call to ask him what to bring, and he says "nothing," they indeed show up empty-handed; however, that's not proper etiquette in the star's eyes.
"Bring something...a small gift. It's kind of the right thing to do," he added. Barrymore, speaking during a segment of Maniscalco's hour-long stand-up set, empathized with the reality of not knowing what to tell someone to bring. The host also confessed that she "feels bad" because she's never brought someone a host's gift.
"I get really stressed when people ask me, 'What can I bring?'" she confessed. "I don't know, I figured it all out. I'd never had people over with no provisions." But Maniscalco had a solution for this, too: the host's gift doesn't have to be ingestible.

"Here's another nice touch, a small candle," he said. "Something small, something nice, just a gift for the house." Petroni added, "Just thoughtful, be thoughtful."
As the resident cook in his home, Manscalco knows a thing or two about being a good host and what makes a good house guest.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the comedian noted that the kitchen is his domain for the most part and his wife, Lana Gomez, with whom he shares two children — Serafina, 8, and Caruso, 6 — is moreso the family baker.
"If I don’t cook, basically our family don’t eat because my wife ain’t touching the kitchen," he said jokingly, later adding that she's more into "cookies and desserts."
