On Monday, the New York Giants worked out several wide receivers, including their 2014 first-round pick, Odell Beckham Jr. Shortly after the workout, the Giants signed Beckham, reuniting with the star receiver in a move that had been speculated about for quite some time.

Talks of a reunion between Beckham and Big Blue had been rumored for years but gained significant momentum in recent months following the hiring of new head coach John Harbaugh.

Beckham was spotted on Monday wearing No. 3 after signing with the team.

While he will wear No. 3 for the time being — the number he donned during his stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins — it is unlikely he will keep it. Abdul Carter switched to No. 3 earlier this offseason.

Beckham may instead take No. 13, which he wore during his original stint with the Giants and later with the Cleveland Browns. However, that number is currently held by Jalin Hyatt.

Given the depth at wide receiver on the current roster, there is no guarantee that Beckham will make the final 53-man roster.

The Giants currently have Malik Nabers, Darnell Mooney, rookie Malachi Fields, Calvin Austin, Odell Beckham Jr., Darius Slayton, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios, Isaiah Hodgins, Beaux Collins, Dalen Cambre, Xavier Gipson, Ryan Miller, and Jalin Hyatt competing for six, or possibly seven, wide receiver spots.

While Beckham’s reunion with the Giants has fans excited, he will need to prove that he is worthy of a roster spot and that he still has something left in the tank.
