The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their strong form on Wednesday night with a 128–110 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, completing their final back-to-back stretch of the season with wins in both games.
While MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander impressed once again with a double-double of 20 points and 11 assists, it was Chet Holmgren who stole the show.
Coming off a 15-point, 10-rebound performance in Tuesday’s 123–87 win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Holmgren got off to a scorching start, scoring 14 points in the first quarter while shooting 83.3% from the field and adding three rebounds.

Known for being aggressive early, Holmgren maintained his momentum throughout the game and led all players in points, rebounds, and blocks while recording his 24th double-double of the season.
The All-Star big man finished with 30 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks in 31 minutes. He shot an efficient 10-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range, good for 76.9% shooting overall. He became the first player in NBA history to post those numbers in under 35 minutes.
It is an encouraging sign for Oklahoma City as Holmgren finds his rhythm ahead of the playoffs, with the team aiming to defend its NBA title. For the season, Holmgren is averaging 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 55.4% from the field.

Holmgren received strong support across the roster, with Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe scoring 18 and 21 points, respectively, while Isaiah Hartenstein added 10 points and seven rebounds.
With the win, Oklahoma City improved to 64–16 and secured the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the third straight season. They now sit three games ahead of the second-place San Antonio Spurs, but with only two games remaining, it means the top spot is already clinched even if they lose their final two games.
The Thunder will once again have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, and with one of the league’s most electric home environments, that could prove crucial in their title defense.
Oklahoma City returns to action Friday night against the Denver Nuggets before hosting the Phoenix Suns on Sunday at Paycom Center to close out the regular season.
