Sheinelle Jones officially began co-hosting Today with Jenna & Sheinelle in January 2026
Jones is taking a spring break from the Today show, with guest co-hosts filling in all week alongside Jenna Bush Hager

Sheinelle Jones is enjoying some time away from the Today with Jenna & Sheinelle anchor desk.
The TV personality has been permanently co-hosting the fourth hour of Today alongside Jenna Bush Hager since January 2026, following Hoda Kotb's departure from the morning news program nearly one year earlier.
On Monday, March 30, Bush Hager announced at the start of the episode that Jones is "off." She was instead joined by podcast host and comedian Matt Rogers, who is no stranger to guest-hosting the show after his time on Jenna & Friends.
"I feel like I’m back home," Rogers said, to which Bush Hager replied, "We love it when you’re here."
So, where is Sheinelle Jones this week? Here's everything to know about her absence from the Today show and who is filling in until her return.
Why is Sheinelle Jones absent from Today?

During the March 30 episode, Rogers asked Bush Hager why Jones was missing from the show this week, asking if it was "spring break for the kids."
Bush Hager confirmed, saying, "It’s spring break, so she has some time off."

Jones is a mother of three children — Kayin, Clara and Uche — whom she welcomed with her late husband, Uche Ojeh.
During the spring break, Jones has also been promoting her new book, Through Mom's Eyes, including stopping by Fox 29 Philly's Good Day on March 30 to discuss the project.
The book — which is described by publisher G.P. Putnam's Sons as an "inspiring collection of heartfelt life lessons from hardworking moms who raised some of our favorite celebrities" — will be released on April 14, 2026.

The Today show's Instagram account detailed the week of guest fill-ins — and the slate of celebrities they'll be interviewing each morning.
Rogers guest co-hosted on Monday, March 30, and Sunday TODAY's Willie Geist joined Hager for the episode on Tuesday, March 31. Geist will remain guest co-host through Friday, April 3.
Following Alix Earle and Olivia Munn's appearances on the show March 30 and March 31, the slate of stars for the rest of the week includes actress Sharon Stone on April 1, singer and dancer Jaafar Jackson on April 2 and comedian Arsenio Hall on April 3.
